What’s your story about His glory?
We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony.
John wrote in Revelation 12,
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! (NKJV 2184)
Testimony. History. Story. Your story – this is powerful.
When you share your story, it increases your faith. When you share your story – the whole of it – God is glorified and you enforce the devil’s defeat. When you share your story, you make the Good News of the Gospel real, tangible, and attractive. When you share your story, you partner with God in building the kingdom. Think of it as you becoming His bridge to people through Christ . Whether your story is rough and tumble with bumps and bruises and boo-boos OR plainly common with not much to drool over – it all matters. Every story matters. Your heart matters. Your testimony matters. Whether you came up out of misery and pain or addiction and violence or hurts or habits or any kind of hang ups, or a great home life or an imperfect home or a dysfunctional home, your story of redemption through Christ matters.
Be bold. Be brave. Share the story of God’s unfolding glory in your life. Your whole story matters because God loves every part of you – nothing is hidden from Him. Nothing you’ve done is going to make Him love you any less. That’s great news, and it’s the Good News that people need to hear – that God is intimate in His connection with each one of us, that God sees the reality we try to hide from and loves us still, that God loved us despite our foolishness, and that He is more than big enough to handle our scars. This is the message of the Good News, that the Kingdom of God is here and it is now. Many are hungry and in need of the Story of Hope and the Message of Reconciliation. Share it. Don’t be ashamed. Even if you feel you’re not a good communicator, you know how to talk about yourself. Most folks love to talk about themselves. Listen to others and share what’s in common.
Let God use your life. Tell your story of His glory in your life. You’ll grow stronger and braver. Christ has redeemed your life from the grave – yes! Every part of it has been redeemed. God is not ashamed of you. You are His child now, and He loves you. Yes! God loves every part of you.
Let these words encourage your heart to share your story:
The Good News of Salvation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (NKJV 1211)
So what’s your story about His glory? How have you shared your testimony? What concerns do you have about sharing your story? Let’s share the journey together. Story is powerful. Story changes lives.
