Writing can sometimes be a troubling process.  You dig in and get it done some days. Other days, you may find yourself banging your head against a wall because the words won’t come.  The words will come as you push through the “blank” wall.  The words will come when you push through.  Writing can bring discovery, perspective, challenge, and growth.

I grew accustomed to sharing ideas on the same topics for a while.  It was safer that way, but safe doesn’t fuel creativity.  Sometimes safe stifles the creative bent.  What does one do when this happens?

I didn’t think I would ever write about the tough stuff of life, but that’s no longer true. Join me today over at The Story Unfolding where I answer the questions:   how does one write when there’s an empty page staring you down?  Can you write about the hidden things?

Perhaps, after you read, you’ll find the oomph you need to excavate your writing.  You can do this!  I know you can.

A Writer Finds Her Voice

I’m over at The Story Unfolding with Elora Nicole today talking about how I found my writing voice.  In this right-now-moment, I can tell you I am a writer.  I own it with pride.  There is no shame in it.  There is no expectation to which I must reach.  The call that I’ve been hearing is that I must be the real and authentic me – nothing more and nothing less.

I am on this writing-discovery-journey now and loving it.  You could not have told me a year ago that I would have found myself in this creative space or that I would have taken on the arduous journey of writing a novel in 30 days.  These things would not have been possible without my Story 101 family.

Excuse Me While I Go Write My Novel

A dream is a wish your heart makes.  A goal is the vehicle that drives the dream to fruition.  So to all of you, don’t just dream – set that thing in motion.  Do what you need (for yourself, your heart, your spirit) to do to get your goal and dream accomplished.  Seek wisdom.  Get a support group.  Stay accountable.

Today I choose ME.  I choose to do that thing that I’ve been afraid to do.  Today I choose to use the voice the Shepherd gave me.  Today I choose my life.  Today I choose my story about His glory.  Today, yeah, Today is that day. Today I choose to lean in. So if you’ll please…
