Because the mind wonders, meanders, and goes its own way.

Living Life More Fully…

Permission to live your life is granted.

Your life is yours and belongs to no one but you.  You are accountable for your life.  Live your life without fear.  Live your life without regret.  Live your life without deferring to others.  Live your life in accordance to what you feel the Lord is leading you to do.  Trust that Jesus knows you—the want of your heart, the desires for your life.  Permission to live your life is in your own hands.

Take your life and live it.  Press play.  Stop hitting the pause button.  God has much good in store for you.  With God there is always more to come.  Always more to come is with Christ.  Live your life with boldness and without reservation.

In the way of meandering, we come to find ourselves.  Is it our beginning or our end?  We come to them quite often.  The journey is replete with surprise, pain, arduous truth confrontations, and facing the music.  Still today, I am thinking about change.  Momentum.  Moving forward.  Along the way of meandering I find, pebbles and stones.  Some over which I trip.  Some I stop and pick up, while others I hurl violently against the wind.  Meandering aimlessly.  Purposefully. At cross-purposes.  This is that journey of becoming, of being, of realizing, of wrestling…

In the way of meandering, I find I’m lost but found.  Weaving, dodging, accepting, denying–these are all part and parcel of this walk.  Senseless sometimes?  Yes.  Worth it all?  Yes.  This I believe.  There’s no turning back.  There is only the option of moving forward, of traversing the bumpy road, of scaling the steep mountain.  This is the journey every man must take.  I pray that in the way of meandering, He find me there.  Rescue.  That He lead me forward.

So here’s a little something to consider for today:

Isaiah 43

2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you. (NLT)

His promise is with me.  I am not alone, and there’s no reason to fear.  He leads me peacefully.  It is not a matter of if, but when, and is promise is that He is with me.  This is more than enough.  Even in what seems like meaningless meandering, God is there–with me.

Just A Thought…

beautiful woman m davidsonThe world is a very funny place. You come into not knowing anything, and you leave it with nothing; but in between are the pages you leave behind as a legacy. I see it all around me. Legacy is happening–by choice, on purpose, by accident, haphazard…legacy is happening. I think of something someone once told me….Gold dust. Every where gold dust. Where I leave my mark is like leaving little bits of gold dust here, there, and every where. Continue reading Just A Thought…

An Unscheduled Stop

May 5, 2008

Revised 2/20/2009

There’s a scene in Under the Tuscan Sun in which the tour guide says ……. “Hey everybody, just an unscheduled stop…”  How many times have I seen the movie or even felt the phrase?  It lives and breathes in our being.  Change.  The unplanned plan of life.  The happening.  The here-I-come-whether-you-like-it-or-not-or-whether-you’re-ready-or-not attitude of the tides that come crashing upon the shores of our lives.  We slowly walk along, and are quickly thrown off balance, indeed, off course.

Where I have purchased land in a foreign place?  Was it in my soul?  My heart, mind, body, being, employment, family, or friends?  Soil and ground.  Rooted and planted.  Growing.  Shrinking.  Swelling.  Movement and momentum.

An unscheduled stop everyone.  Where is your rock and hard place?  Your pause?  Your wait?  Your stay-here-a–minute?  It is moving and grinding along the vein of life.  It beckons to be heard.  There is a reckoning day to come.  Ready or not here it comes.  It will find you.  Off kilter.  You won’t “feel” like “it” or anything.  Where is the safety zone?  The safety net?  There can be no fear when life throws the lemons.  There can be no hesitation when it comes to deciding for your life if, how, and when you will live.  You see you must simply live and live simply.  There is and can be no other way.

There are rocks along the paths in our lives.  Dry deserts longing for us to be stuck and scorched to death.  There is a river calling.  It’s refreshment for and to the soul.  A little sand, some pebbles, stones, and boulders.  Some over which we climb.  Some we simply toss, while others stand boldly in our way daring our dauntless energy to push, shove, and move them out of they way.

Stripped of all that was once a comfort, now you must fight for yourself, by yourself, alone—yet not alone.  Don’t stop.  Don’t give up.  Though you are tired, there is rest for the weary.

Where is your unscheduled stop?  Do you bravely move forward in a direction you had not previously planned on going, or do you desire to move backward?   You have a choice.  Cease believing and saying that you have no choice.  It simply isn’t true.  You cannot worry over what you cannot control.

Everyday.  A new opportunity.  So what will you do with this “stop”?  Will you tread upon foreign soil and plant a new life, a new seed; or will you shrivel up and die?  That’s no way to live.  Choose life.  Choose to live. Choose to take a chance.  Choose to move forward.  Choose to dream.  Choose to make sunshine in the cloudy darkness.  Choose to light a fire that can only come from within.  No one else will give you light.  Only the One can.  You wish, desire, hope, and long for it.  Now is the time…….. You were made for such a time as this. No more tears.  Let’s get moving.  Today it is something to seriously consider.

A Very Good Plan

A Plan To Prosper
When life “feel” hopeless, I love when I remember God’s promises. We are not a people without hope. One of my favorite life verse passages comes from Jeremiah 29:1-14. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”I suppose we keep faithing it, clinging to Jesus no matter what. I don’t know how the heroes of the faith held to God, but somehow they did–through thick and thin, sickness, death, loss, bankruptcy, poverty, and all sorts of yuck. I guess that’s where the rubber hits the road–when the fires of life test our faith, and we have to believe in spite of circumstance. We may say to ourselves that God is bigger than this mountain even though we may feel small. Nothing is difficult for our Great God. This is what I must remember when turmoil arise without and within.

And the answer is YES…… God can cause me to prosper even in the desert places. He can cause me to prosper in the wildnerness. He can cause me to prosper in pain. He can cause me to prosper when hope seems lost. He is not without hope. He is not without goodness. He is not without faithfulness. He is not without love. He is not without hearing. ALL His promises are yes and Amen–whether in the valley of the shadow of death, or high on the mountain, God has not left us as orphans.

To all of you on walking the journey, keep faithing it. We know God’s word is true and the He–God–is NOT a man that he should lie. What he has promised, He WILL bring to pass. THIS I must believe.
