Five Minute Friday:: Last

Last:

It doesn’t seem like a loaded word, but for me “last” is coming in fast and quick. It’s been loaded with goodness, grace, redefining, and purifying. My thoughts about my life being last have changed. My thoughts about dreams being last have changed. My thoughts on making my goals last have changed. They are no longer last. They are no longer ignored as though they didn’t matter.

Last isn’t the end. For me, it is a new beginning. It has become a jumping off place. In fact, I think of last as a place to leave behind the old ways. Like the last place I left my doubt. The last place I left despair. The last time I hoped less. The last time I moved out of laziness house.

Last is no longer my enemy. She’s not necessarily my friend, but she and I have made peace.

The last thing I did brought peace and wholeness to dreams brimming the tip of my soul. The last conversations I had with my story session sisters, left me feeling empowered and encouraged. The last coaching session left me feeling as though I could make this wild idea happen.

Maybe you struggle too with feeling last in this life. Don’t be down on yourself. Turn your lasts into beginnings. Choose to see from a new perspective. It is life affirming and grace-giving to see with new eyes.

May today be the last day you doubt the beauty birthing within you. May today be the last time to you refuse to really live.

Start today.

Let today be the last time you allow fear to cripple you.

    1. Thank you so much. I wrote mine late, but that’s okay. I was immediately reminded of the wonder of words and community with that FMF. Good memories. THanks for reading!
