A Love Letter to Those Who Wish to Rise

dreams m davidsonI didn’t always believe in my dreams.  I found it much easier to tag along with other people’s dreams.  They seemed so vibrant, so promising, so intriguing.  The way that went after them with fire was inspiring to me.  I tried ceaselessly to fan their flame my way, to embers burning dimly.

Sister, mother, friend, brother, you need to know, and so do I.  We have beautiful beginnings birthing in each one of us.  We have a creative bent unique to each one of us.

Today, I choose to believe in my dreams, my words, my creativity.  Will you choose with me? For yourself?

I’m over at the Story Sessions today with a love letter to those who wish to rise. Come read the rest, and find your embrace. Your words are welcome.

You, sister, you will rise.

Love Letter to Creative Souls

Bloom
All these blossoms
All these stems
All these blades
Were made to bloom

What if being a whole and authentic creative soul meant remembering who you always are?  Would you still create?  Would you still write?  Would you revel in the thought, or would you be stilted, crushed, or even immobilized?  Sister, it’s okay.  We’ll walk together on this journey.  Being a real and true creative soul means embracing the whole of your story, and we want all of you to shine.  How can that divine light in you shine bright and undimmed, if you’re hiding or switching the lights off?

Today I’m over at The Story Sessions with a love letter to creative souls.  Come take a read, and be encouraged.  Perhaps you might find something of the return to being fully you, fully whole, and fully aware that you carry beauty and hope.  It’s what the world needs more of right now – people who love and are real and true.

Come on in and take a peek at my writing process.  It may not be perfect, but it’s getting me where I need to go. Continue reading My Writing Process

Acceptance

remember marvia davidson
 It shines bright here now.
The ground was barren for so long.
My feet forgot the memory of soft
grass welcoming soft, fleshy
bodies in its embrace.
I’m waking up now.
I’m waking up now.

Leaves cease to taste so brittle and bitter.
Their shade is now my reverie, a reprieve.
A canopy of light dawns, piercing the shadowy broken.
How have I lived this way so long, without the sun?
Lonely is a lonely place.
I’m waking up now.
I’m waking up now.

The Beauty of Now

beauty now marvia davidsonI love the writing community, Story Sessions!  Women are taking up their brave on a daily basis, owning the beauty of brokenness, and sharing the story – healing words spilling from their souls.  These words are beautiful.  I met Jamie through Story Sessions and as a part of Story 201.  She has been a shoulder of calm and confidence.  She has inspired me to keep pressing in to the business of finishing out my memoir.

I know you will be encouraged by her poetic words on pressing in to the Beauty of Now.  And please take a listen to her lovely, musical rendition.
