We {Real Talk Tuesday}

hold hands m davidson 2014I am me.  You are you.  Together we’re stronger.  It’s true.

But really!  There is power in the “we”.  I am a conservative person, reserved, and very guarded.  I don’t always easily trust people.  I wait till I can trust them before I share the realities of living in the right-now life.  I’m okay with that.  It’s part of my process, but living in community, whether online or in real life, calls for intentional connection person-to-person.   Continue reading We {Real Talk Tuesday}

Acceptance

remember marvia davidson
 It shines bright here now.
The ground was barren for so long.
My feet forgot the memory of soft
grass welcoming soft, fleshy
bodies in its embrace.
I’m waking up now.
I’m waking up now.

Leaves cease to taste so brittle and bitter.
Their shade is now my reverie, a reprieve.
A canopy of light dawns, piercing the shadowy broken.
How have I lived this way so long, without the sun?
Lonely is a lonely place.
I’m waking up now.
I’m waking up now.

Do we ever get them done?

I find myself saying it again. “This time next year I will…” (fill in the many blanks for your life).  I think this must be what the bible means when it talks about don’t say you’ll do this or that because you don’t know what the future holds.  Are we really invested?  Are we really going to do it? Did we really ever count the cost?  The only way to tell is in the living day by day – that’s how you know you are accomplishing the goal or the resolution.

On Beauty – It’s Not About the Looks

I’ve read the book of 1st Peter lots of times, but today is the day I see different.  Today I have a new affirmation I didn’t even know I needed. It was one of those Aha! moments, and I get it.  As though the Father spoke directly to me, “I see you, Daughter.”
